Tis the Season to be Giving wallhangingpattern

At first glance, Day Night looks like a pattern for an advanced quilter but when Eleanor waves her magic wand over it, everyone will see how easy this pattern really is The magic is that it is strip pieced Designer Michelle Countess originally took a complicated paper pieced pattern and stripped it to make it fun and easy From strips pieced together, triangles are cut with a custom acrylic ruler, included with the book. Quarter blocks are stitched together for large blocks and suddenly, the beautiful starry pattern appears Eleanor offers variations on making a quilt with 2 or 3 contrasting colors, and the stepbystep illustrations include cutting directions for both left and righthanders. Full yardage and cutting charts are included for quilt sizes Tablerunner to King Size. There is a section included to assist with fabric selection, color and scale of print. A gallery of quilts is included to admire and inspire. Two bonus projects are included for the "cut away" scraps from making the quilt blocks. Wallhangings and tablerunners use up all those spare pieces to give you extra delight in your quilt. PB c2009 96pgs ISBN: 1891776320

  • Join us for quilting experience to lift your spirits in the coming year and assist you in planting self care habits to nurture you as you serve others in your life.  Bluebird Quilt Studio will be offering a unique quilting journey with those who are looking for additional support through the challenges of living in and through the pandemic.  This is both a personal journey and a community experience and is offered to support quilters mentally and emotionally as we find our ways through the challenges of life.  Quilters are caregivers to their families, their communities and the greater world.  There is no charge to participate in the quilting instruction or for the free downloadable pattern that will be provided monthly during project.  It is offered in a spirit of helping those who do so much for others.
  • The pictures shown below represent the possible quilt projects that will be offered.  The top quilt is our new offering for 2021 and is intended for intermediate to advanced piecers, as the pattern is more challenging.  The lower quilt pattern is a pattern that was offered in 2020 and is appropriate for beginners to the quilting world.  Ihave included a few versions of the quilts that were completed in the 2020 version for your enjoyment.
  • (Ladies, that group was a highlight of my year!  You are amazing!)

What is "reflective quilting"?

Each session will begin with a discussion related to the quilt block and the theme it represents.  A journaling and reflective group discussion will follow with the quilt group live on zoom.  Lastly we will discuss tips to make the sewing of the block go more smoothly.  We had quilters from across the US join us during our 2020 session.  Quilting together and discussing important self care strategies quickly stitched together both quilts and hearts and made abiding friendships within the group.    We would love to kit your project for you (and appreciate your business!) but it is optional to participate.  Blessings to you and here is to a happy, healthy 2022!  I hope you can join us!
