1309 2nd Street South Suite A, LONG ARM QUILTING CLASSES- Classes offered Wednesday afternoons 2-4:30 or Friday and Saturday mornings 9:30-12. Class includes “flight” manual and supplies. Enjoy our Royal Ken Quilt full size long arm machine and finish your quilt tops in no time. Call for availability and rental prices.
KIDS CAN QUILT CLUB- Thursdays 3:30-5pm Ongoing /month Kids join us in the studio as we create fun quilt projects. All supplies included ---even the fun! Join at any time!!
KIDS QUILT CAMP- JULY 12-16 9:30-12:30 Open to ages 8-18 5 includes all fabrics for this lap quilt top. (you supply batting and backing) Come each morning and sew this simple quilt top- it will be done by the end of the week! No experience required!
BEGINNING QUILTING- Wednesday, August 25-Sept 9th 9:30-12:30 or Thursdays, August 5-Sept 9th 6:30-9:00 p.m. Cost- Come in and learn this fun, rewarding hobby! Inspiration, encouragement, and instruction provided.
SQUARE IN A SQUARE – Mondays, June 21 & 28th 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM plus book and special ruler This class uses a special ruler to make fabulous quilts that look like they are much more work than they are. A tool and technique you will use for years to come!
CREATIVE DYING WITH MARKERS- Friday, June 25th 9:30- 12 PM Who would have thought you could create such beautiful fabrics with children’s markers? Come join in the fun! “JUNK JEANS” MAKEOVER – Thursday; July 8 & 15th 1-3 PM plus book This is a great way to turn some old jeans into some real works of art! Great for teens! FABRIC PAINTING IN THE PARK- Friday, July 9th 10 AM includes paint. (Book optional) This is a VERY fun technique to create your own fabrics. You will learn to make skies, various textures, and play with sun printing. ADVANCED MACHINE QUILTING- Saturday, July 10th 1-4 PM Want to learn more about machine quilting and perfect your skills- this is the class to do it! BASIC SEWING –Tuesday s June 22nd- July13 6:30-8:30 PM four sessions This class teaches you the basics- how to use the sewing machine, read patterns, types of fabrics and how to purchase them, etc. We will complete 3 projects during class STAINED GLASS QUILTS- Monday, July 12 2-4 PM includes kit for stained glassf quilt block. This is a very easy technique with a beautiful result. HAWAIIAN APPLIQUE- Friday, July 16th 1-4 PM includes pattern This class teaches you how to make a small Hawaiian wall hanging using needle turn appliqué method LAYERED WAVES- Wednesdays, July 21 &28 9:30-12 plus book Come learn this easy technique for layering curves in 3 simple steps! Make a striking quilted jacket, vest, bag, or wall hanging PICTURE PIECING- Thursday, July 22nd 9:30-12:30 plus pattern This is a method of making quilted pictures with out traditional paper piecing. T-SHIRT QUILT- Saturday July 24th & 31st 1-4 PM Bring in those T-shirts youv’e been saving and make a wonderful memory quilt! ALASKA TOSS- THURSDAY, JULY 29TH & AUG 5TH 9:30-12:30 plus pattern This spectacular quilt uses a unique method to make curves in the blocks and borders. VICTORIAN NEEDLEBOX- Friday, July 30th 9:30-12:30 plus kit These fun needle boxes make great gifts with a WOW factor built right in! This is a no sew project. RIBBON EMBROIDERY- Tuesdays August 10 & 17th 9:30- 12:30 This class will teach you to embellish your quilts with ribbon embroidery and beading. REFLECTIONS- Friday, August 13th 10 AM-3 PM plus pattern Come learn this unique technique that uses a large print! Beautiful! LAYERED WAVES SUN HAT- Monday, August 16th and 23rd 1-4 PM plus pattern You can be color coordinated in this cute, fun sun hat! MACHINE QUILTING - Friday August 20th 9:30- 12 Learn the basics of quilting on your own sewing machine. See how easy free motion can be with a little practice and the right tools. HOT RIBBON APPLIQUE –Tuesdays August 24 & 31 6:30 – 9:00 PM; plus book or pattern and supplies (such as ribbon). Learn how to embellish your floral or other designs with this unique method of attaching ribbon! HARMONIC CONVERGENCE- Monday, August 23rd & 30th 1-4 PM plus book This is a great method using Ricky Tims’ book that converges 4 fabrics.
ACCIDENTAL LANDSCAPE- Wednesday, August 25th 1:00 – 4:00p.m. plus book These adorable little landscapes are fun and easy to make. Bet you can’t make just one!
DIVA ESSENTIALS PURSE- Fridays, Sept 10, 17, 24 9:30- 12 plus pattern Great little bag that opens to reveal a surprisingly spacious interior with plenty of pockets (including a SECRET POCKET!)
GATHERINGS AND EVENTS AT BLUEBIRD … CONKERR CANCER PILLOW CASE WEEK July 26-30. Join us in our studio to make a pillow case for kids with cancer. No cost…. just a willing heart to help. "BLOOM" FABRIC CHALLENGE DUE Monday Sept 6 Challenge your quilting design skills with Sandra Brandenburg's Bloom Fabrics... awesome, bold super-size floral fabric. Projects will be displayed in the studio the month of September, veiwers choice will recieve BQS gift certificate! BQS SCHOOL HOUSE Oct 9 Workshops and fun! BQS MYSTERY QUILT DAY Sept 18 PRECUT KITS available! FEATHERWEIGHT CLUB Are you a featherweight fanatic? Birds of a feather flock together at Bluebird Quilt Studio the fourth Monday of each month 6:30-8 PM. SHOW AND TELL Share your latest project or get ideas from avid quilt fans at 11 AM the first Saturday of each month. Inspiration and refreshments provided. All individuals sharing a project receive a complimentary gift. BLUEBIRD SKILL BUILDERS CLUB On the 3rd Saturday of each month at 10am sharp come learn a new skill and receive a block to be made into a sampler quilt. Each month for 12 months, you will receive a pattern and fabric for a different block. Block size will be 9” and finishing kits will be available to purchase at the end of 12 months. You must sign up in advance so we can plan for the number of kits needed. Block kits are $ 5 to start. Rules to qualify to receive the next month’s kit free: 1. You must be at Bluebird Quilt Studio and checked in by 10am. 2. You must have your block from the previous month done. 3. You must stay and listen to a 30 minute presentation. If you are unable to attend one month, are late or do not have your completed block with you (your friend cannot bring your block and have that count) you will have to pay $ 5 for that month’s kit. IN “PURSE” SUIT OF HAPPINESS!-BAG OF THE MONTH CLUB- Starting in January we will offer a new bag/purse/tote/etc. each month. For members of the club, the $ 20/month dues cover: guidance class, pattern for the month, and they will receive a discount on fabric purchased for their bag. The guidance classes will be offered the 4th Friday from 1-4pm and the 4th Saturday from 10am-1pm each month to accommodate your needs. This will be a lot of fun so be sure to sign up!
